The climate of the area in which our winery and vineyards lie is typically continental and with Atlantic influences, resulting in considerable variations between the day and nighttime temperatures. The area enjoys average annual temperatures of around 12ºC, 2500 hours of sunshine and has a predominantly north-east, north north-easterly wind.

The rainfall is highly irregular and the summer is characterised by extended dry periods. Average annual precipitation levels stand at between 350 and 400 mm. In turn, the winters tend to be extremely cold with severe frosts.

The soil in this area dates back to the Miocene Period and is a sandy, limy tertiary and quaternary sediment with gypsum marls over clay and gravel with little organic material.
